RuneStone Publishing, LLC is accepting submissions in all of the genres we publish. We are currently NOT looking for novellas, except where listed below.

We look for manuscripts with original plots, engaging characters and pacing set for today's busy readers.

We do not accept unsolicited email submissions. We DO accept email queries.

RuneStone Publishing is especially interested in acquiring the following:

Romance

Historical - Be it 4000 B.C. or 1865 A.D., romance will find a way to blossom. We're looking for a wide range of locations and time periods to add to our catalogue. While a good Regency period romance is great, we also enjoy the unusual. Had trouble placing something with a traditional print house because your story is "different"? This might be the place for you. Characters and settings should be well-developed and setting/era should be an integral part of the story.

Paranormal - Vampires, Shapeshifters, Gods, Faerie, Time Travel, you name it, we want to see it. Our limit is your imagination. Any time period is acceptable in this popular genre. Overly submissive/ "Rescue Me" heroines are not encouraged to apply! We like our ladies spunky.

Science Fiction/Fantasy

We're looking for epic stories about compelling characters, whose story arcs may run through one or several books. These stories may or may not have romance as a central theme.

Anthology

Bite Me - Sensual or erotic vampire escapades. Any time period or setting. May be told from vampire POV, as well. Stories should be 20,000 to 30,000 words in length.

RuneStone Publishing, LLC publishes three different kinds of works:

Novella* (20,000 - 39,000 words)

Category Length (40,000- 60,000 words)

Single Title (61,000 - 120,000 words)

*Novellas will only be considered during times we're actively acquiring for an anthology. Please watch for acquisition information.

Steps of Submission

1. Email Query Letter to Queries - Save yourself some postage. Check with us via email to see if we're interested in your manuscript. Each email should include your book's title, the word count, applicable publishing credits and a short synopsis of the work. (Five pages or less should suffice.) DO NOT attach the synopsis. Paste it into the text of the email, following the letter.

2. Submission of Partial or Total Manuscript - If requested, please submit either a partial or complete manuscript in .RTF format. Send as an attachment to submissions@runestonepublishing.com. In the subject line of the email, state "Requested full; TITLE; author's last name" An example of this would be:

If submitting by snail mail, please write "Requested Material" on the envelope and include a floppy disk with your complete manuscript in RTF format!

Please include a SASE for manuscript return. Any submission without one will be recycled instead of returned.

Standard Manuscript format:

8 1/2 x 11 white paper
Print only on one side of the paper
Times New Roman, 12 point font
1 inch margins on all sides/ double spaced
Header should contain title, author name and page number
Show scene breaks with ***
Inner thought and emphasis words in italics, not underlined
Page break at the bottom of title page and at each chapter end
Do not staple or otherwise bind
